For Immediate Release: Golf Tips Magazine Names High Heat 257+ The Best Driver And Fairway Metalwoods Of 2019

BONITA, CA (January 7, 2020) – Golf Tips Magazine has named Knuth Golf’s High Heat 257+ the best driver and fairway metalwoods of 2019.

High Heat 257+ is the only brand that takes advantage of a 2016 USGA Equipment Rule change that allows more trampoline effect in the toe and heel areas of the clubface for more distance. The 3-Trampoline technology is in High Heat 257+ drivers, fairway metalwoods and hybrids.

“What felt like a slight toe hit resulted in a powerful mini-fade that rolled out nearly to the range’s border fence some 280 yards distant,” said Golf Tips editor Vic Williams after testing the High Heat 257+. “With the High Heat driver, strikes that were once disappointing are now exhilarating, time after time.”

“High Heat 257+ metalwoods are easy to launch high, and with average trampoline values of 266 outside the center of the face compared to major brands with historically low trampoline values outside the center of the face, they provide the same distance across the face for more greens and lower scores. The clubs perform as advertised with game breaking magic, and that is why amateurs should buy High Heat 257+ clubs.”

The new High Heat 257+ 3-Trampoline technology results from the USGA Rule change, and was believed to be impossible to achieve, confirmed by the fact that no brand had accomplished it in that span until Knuth Golf did it in time to launch High Heat 257+ at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show.
The USGA changed its equipment rule to help amateurs because unlike Tour pros who consistently hit in the center of the face, amateurs hit outside the center of the face approximately 50% of the time.  That is why co-founders Dean Knuth, who invented the USGA Course and Slope Rating Systems and a Senior Director of the USGA for 16 years and Steve Trattner, intellectual property attorney for the USGA, Pebble Beach and Pinehurst for over 20 years, did not stop until they invented a way to take advantage of this new rule.

Golf Tips’ editors noticed the difference right away.

“Most amateur golfers consistently hit the toe and heel areas where the CT has been low and lose 20-30 yards,” said Williams. “But not with High Heat 257+. With the 257+ fairway metal and hybrid, we got the same sweet power-packed sensation with each swing — even those that were clearly on the toe or heel.”

High Heat’ 257+’s novel 3-trampoline technology has also been positively received by noted golf instructors.

“On average amateur golfers hit their driver and metalwoods on the toe or heel approximately 50 percent of the time. That is why High Heat 257+ 3-trampoline technology is such a game changer for amateur golfers.” – Kay McMahon, LPGA Hall of Fame instructor, Golf Digest’s 50 Best Women Teachers In America.

“Hitting on the toe, heel or center of the face of the High Heat 257+ driver felt great and the distance was same for every shot. You can’t miss. Amazing.” -Jason Krier, PGA Teaching Pro, PA

High Heat has taken the golf industry by storm since entering the market in 2015 with a simple but crucial mission – design clubs specifically for amateurs instead of Tour pros, so they can optimize their performance and increase their enjoyment of the game. The High Heat driver, fairway woods and hybrids, featuring lower and deeper center of gravity, have all been named in numerous media “best products lists.” Customers rave about increased performance and lower scores with High Heat in their bag.

Knuth Golf’s High Heat line will be available for testing at the PGA Merchandise Show’s Demo Day at Orange Country National Golf Club on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from Tee Box 8. Also, Knuth Golf co-owners Dean Knuth and Steve Trattner will be available for interviews and meetings during the PGA Show in the International Network of Golf Hospitality Room, 312 A/B.

Knuth was awarded Golf Inc. magazine’s “Top Innovator” award for innovation of golf clubs in 2016.

Knuth Golf’s High Heat driver, fairway woods and hybrids have been named the “Best” in their class by several major golf media. High Heat products have won the prestigious ING Industry Honors award for Product Ingenuity three of the past four years, including last year with High Heat 257+.

TAYLORMADE GOLF COMPANY ANNOUNCES SIM MAX AND SIM MAX OS IRONS – BRINGING FORGED-LIKE FEEL TO THE DISTANCE IRON CATEGORY

BUILDING ON THE REVOLUTIONARY PERFORMANCE OF SPEED BRIDGE TECHNOLOGY TO DELIVER IMPROVED FEEL, SOUND AND EXPLOSIVE DISTANCE

CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 10, 2020) – TaylorMade Golf, the industry leader in innovation and technology, today announced the all-new SIM Max and SIM Max OS irons. Featuring the company’s revolutionary Speed Bridge™ technology and the all-new ECHO® Damping System, SIM Max and SIM Max OS delivers explosive distance, enhanced sound, and forged-like feel to the distance iron category.

SPEED BRIDGE COMBINES WITH THRU-SLOT SPEED POCKET – DISTANCE, PERFORMANCE AND FORGED-LIKE FEEL

After playing a pivotal role in the industry-leading performance found in M5 & M6 irons, Speed Bridge technology again takes centre stage in 2020. TaylorMade has built upon this revolutionary technology to deliver more refined performance with SIM Max and SIM Max OS irons.

Speed Bridge is a mass efficient beam that spans across the cavity back of the iron, connecting the back bar to the topline. This intelligent shaping allows for improved stability in the upper face and supports the topline, preventing unwanted vibrations that create the harsh feel associated with traditional distance irons. The increased rigidity in the topline and upper perimeter of the face delivers an improved sound and feel while working in conjunction with a flexible Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ engineered for increased ball speed and distance.

Thanks to the face stability offered by Speed Bridge, TaylorMade engineers were able to

incorporate a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket in SIM Max and SIM Max OS. The slot stretches from heel to toe and completely disconnects the leading edge from the sole of the iron, which in essence creates a free-floating face. The collaborative technologies allow the face to hinge upon the topline for enhanced flexibility, more ball speed and greater forgiveness on shots struck below centre.

Through further analysis, TaylorMade engineers were able to redesign the face and optimize the relationship between the stiffness in the Speed Bridge and the flexibility in the face. The result is a thinner and faster face with a larger sweet spot as compared to the company’s previous model.*

ECHO® DAMPING SYSTEM – HEIGHTENED FEEL, EFFICIENT DISTANCE

If you lift the hood on SIM Max and SIM Max OS, you’ll find the all-new ECHO Damping System – the key to providing better feel without sacrificing performance. This uniquely shaped damper design stretches across the entire face (from heel to toe) using multiple contact points for accelerated vibration damping. This high-performance damper design is driven by Vibration Damping Channels that wrap around the entire structure for effortless compression. These channels allow the damper to efficiently compress at impact, giving the material a place to disperse without inhibiting movement in the face.

341805 2020irons echo dampening system a428fe large 1578589189

The ECHO Damping System and Speed Bridge work in unison to deliver forged-like feel. In company testing, SIM MAX and Max OS consistently produced impact frequencies (the sound at impact that players interpret as feel) in line with those of forged-construction irons. Collectively, these technologies reduce unwanted vibrations at impact and allow the golfer to get feedback on the strike – a performance characteristic commonly reserved for forged irons.

PROGRESSIVE INVERTED CONE TECHNOLOGY – EACH INDIVIDUAL IRON OPTIMIZED FOR ACCURACY

TaylorMade’s proven Inverted Cone Technology (ICT) is now uniquely positioned in each SIM Max and SIM Max OS iron to both increase the sweet spot and minimize the effects of common mis-hits. ICT is positioned in the centre of the face on mid irons to deliver performance exactly where golfers need it the most.

TaylorMade’s vast archive of club data shows that longer irons struck towards the toe have a greater tendency to miss to the right. With this in mind, engineers progressively positioned ICT towards the toe in both SIM Max and SIM Max OS to generate a draw bias in the longer irons to minimize the common miss to the right. It’s positioned the farthest toward the toe in the 4-iron.

SIM MAX – OUR BEST FEELING DISTANCE IRON, POWERED BY SPEED BRIDGE

Designed for the golfer seeking all-around performance in a distance iron, SIM Max is built to deliver fast ball speeds, high launch, and forgiveness. It all starts with Speed Bridge – the marquee design element that produces enhanced feel and works in conjunction with the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket to provide incredible distance and forgiveness. The all-new ECHO Damping System contributes to the forge-like feel of the irons, while an ultra-thin 1.5mm face (even thinner than the M5 & M6 irons) delivers increased flexibility across the entire face. A lightweight fluted hosel with a 360 undercut shifts mass from high in the club to the bottom of the sole for a super low CG. These features combine to make SIM Max TaylorMade’s core distance iron.

SIM MAX – SPECIFICATIONS, PRICING & AVAILABILITY

Available for preorder on January 10 and at retail beginning February 7, the SIM Max irons ($1,049.99 steel/$1,1149.99 graphite CAD) will be offered in 5-PW/AW (7 pc. set with 4 iron, SW and LW also available) and come equipped with KBS Max 85 steel shafts (S, R) or Fujikura’s Ventus Blue graphite shafts (7S, 6R & 5A). For women, the SIM Max irons will come equipped with the Aldila NV Ladies shaft.

SIM MAX OS – MAX DISTANCE WITH ENHANCED FEEL

SIM Max OS is equipped with all the same technology that powers SIM Max but bundled into an oversized package with a taller face to increase stability and a wider sole for forgiving turf interaction. The chamfered sole design allows engineers to drive CG low and deep to promote easier launch and significant ball speed. Stronger lofts protect the trajectory and produce a penetrating ball flight that makes SIM Max OS the longest iron in the current TaylorMade lineup.**

New Exotics EXS 220 Driver – All That You Need to Know

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing information on the new Exotics EXS 220 metalwoods family. I predicted that the 2019 EXS range was going to be good, really good and highly underrated based on my reviews of the Exotics EXS hybrid. That hybrid ended up being the best that I’ve gamed to this point and is an “automatic” club. If you never made swings with the EXS irons or the driver then you really missed out.

touredge2020

Fun Fact. The 2019 Exotics EXS driver finished on the podium for Teezy Award honors in the “Top Driver” category. As new products have emerged and information released, it was Tour Edge Golf who had me the most curious. How would they follow-up the very successful Exotics EXS range? The answer.  The Exotics EXS 220.

Today, we have a look at the driver.

In the release below we learn about everything that is the Exotics 220 range. I liken them to a proverbial love-child of the EXS and CBX 119 range (the latter I never made swings with).

New inclusions for the EXS 220 driver include…

  • Diamond-Face Technology
  • Exceptional forgiveness through very high MOI numbers
  • S.D Bar to enhance and improve the acoustics and more

Please see the press release below for all of the details. More to come.

Tour Edge officially introduces the Exotics EXS 220 driver, fairway metal and
hybrid, featuring state-of-the-art game-enhancing innovations that vastly improves
upon the wildly successful and award-winning Exotics EXS line.

Exotics EXS 220 metalwoods feature Diamond Face technology, a major breakthrough in face technology that features different thick and thin diamond shapes or “mini-trampolines” behind the face, producing a hotter face with faster ball speeds and better performance on off-center hits, as well as reduced spin.

The all-new shapes and weight repositioning of the EXS 220 metalwoods have made
for the most forgiving and stable metals ever produced by Tour Edge.

“We have taken a substantial leap forward in design innovation with the entire EXS
220 line,” said Tour Edge President and Master Club Designer David Glod. “We set
an all-time record for Exotics metalwoods sold with the original EXS line and based
on the initial reaction to the performance from our partners and tour professionals,
we feel we will shatter that sales record with the EXS 220.”

tour-edge-exs-220-driver-exploded

“Our goal is to make anyone who hits these side by side to clubs that cost twice as
much to question why they would ever think about spending the extra money,” said
Glod. “These clubs are that good. We will have a large amount of EXS 220 in play
on the professional tours and we will penetrate bags of the better players across
the globe due to the extreme performance benefits of these clubs. Truly, pound for
pound, nothing comes close to the EXS 220 metalwoods.”

The new ultra-premium, high-performance Exotics EXS 220 driver, fairway metal
and hybrid will be featured at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show and will be available
for purchase worldwide on February 1, 2020.

EXS 220 Driver

The EXS 220 Driver produces extreme Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) numbers with its
all new elongated face-to-back shape and adjustable 9-gram back weight to create
one of the highest M.O.I. ratings ever manufactured in a driver. Additional weights
will be available in 3 grams, 6 grams, 11 grams, and 14 grams to help dial in the
preferred swing weight and trajectory.

The driver features an all-new elongated shape and adjustable 9-gram back weight to create an M.O.I. of 5440 grams per cubic centimeter, a 20% percent increase over the previous EXS Driver. Helping secure such high M.O.I. numbers were also made possible by the employment of Triple Carbon Fiber technology featured on the crown and heel/toe areas of the sole.

This premium and extremely lightweight carbon fiber provide extreme weight savings that could then be repositioned into the back of the clubhead. The high-grade 8-1-1 Titanium face of the EXS 220 Driver is shallower and features a lower density, lighter Titanium to allow for more weight repositioning. Behind the face, the revolutionary Diamond Face technology features 42 different thick and thin diamond shapes, producing a massive sweet spot.

tour-edge-exs-220-driver-face

The Diamond Face produces a hotter face with faster ball speeds, reduction of spin and better performance on off-center hits. Tour Edge engineers have placed a Sound Diffusion Bar (S.D. Bar) inside the clubhead that has been used to improve the acoustic engineering of the entire new EXS metalwood line up.

The S.D. Bar was modeled using the F.E.A software to research and fine-tune the
acoustical properties of the driver. The S.D. Bar is a similar idea employed in music
studios and concert halls with diffusion panels used to enhance the richness of sound.

The EXS 220 offers an unprecedented range of lofts from 7.5 degrees to 14 degrees
with three head options.

An adjustable hosel allows golfers to adjust the loft Plus/Minus 2 degrees up and
down, so with three lofts being offered in 9.5, 10.5, and 12 degrees, the EXS 220
offers an unprecedented range of lofts from 7.5 degrees to 14 degrees between the
three loft options. A left-handed version will be made available in the 10.5 loft option.

TAYLORMADE UNVEILS THE NEW SHAPE OF PERFORMANCE WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF SIM METALWOODS

Dynamic Shaping and Unconventional Geometry Unlock the Next Level of Speed and Forgiveness

CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 6, 2020) – TaylorMade Golf Company builds on its history of metalwood innovation and groundbreaking technologies with the all-new SIM family, highlighted by drivers, fairways and hybrids.

340945 tm20mwd jji23 sim mac 01 v2 cbe11a original 1576709337

SIM DRIVERS

With an asymmetric sole design and enhanced Inertia Generator, SIM drivers rely on geometry to unlock the next frontier of performance. A series of shape-inspired innovations work in unison to improve forgiveness while also increasing aerodynamics and clubhead speed at the most critical stage of the swing – the last three feet (one meter) of the swing prior to impact.

Known as the speed generation zone, this is where the most meaningful increase of clubhead speed occurs. At the Tour level, players commonly accelerate from 90mph to 120mph in that moment of truth. SIM drivers are engineered to improve aerodynamics, and thus clubhead speed, through this critical phase of the golf swing.

SHAPE IN MOTION – ADVANCED GEOMETRIC SHAPING FOR AERODYNAMICS, CLUBHEAD SPEED AND FORGIVENESS

SIM, SIM Max and SIM Max•D drivers feature a raised crown and sole to reduce drag and improve airflow throughout the swing. While raising the crown and sole improves aerodynamics, it typically comes with a tradeoff in the form of higher CG projection. However, the SIM family of drivers counteract that with the Inertia Generator positioned low and back with a heavy steel weight at the rear of the club. This design element moves the CG projection very low, optimizing launch conditions and increasing MOI – providing additional forgiveness for the golfer.

During aerodynamic testing, TaylorMade discovered the need to rotate the Inertia Generator to match the direction of airflow within the speed generation zone. The result is air that moves smoothly across the sole on the downswing and enhanced clubhead speeds in company tests.

338920 tm20mwd jji23 sim hero 08 v2 f0376b large 1574758453

To put it simply, TaylorMade has designed a driver with no tradeoffs. SIM is fast, forgiving, promotes favorable launch conditions and has one of the hottest faces in golf.

“The history of driver design has been about prioritizing tradeoffs. You could have great launch conditions, but poor forgiveness. You could have great forgiveness, but at the sacrifice of distance. You could have an aerodynamic shape, but with less than optimal launch conditions. But through the use of multi-material technology, we’ve developed a new shape that optimizes performance in all three areas. It’s forgiving, fast and promotes the ideal launch conditions.”

Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade’s Senior Director of Product Creation

AN EVOLUTION OF MATERIALS

TaylorMade’s journey to SIM began with the lightweight carbon composite technology the company has developed over the course of the last 15 years. The fifth-generation carbon composite material, which was refined throughout the lifespan of the popular M series, was the key to unlocking a series of new geometric opportunities for TaylorMade engineers.

By using carbon materials to construct the crown and sole paneling of SIM, SIM Max and SIM Max•D, designers saved a considerable amount of weight, which was then redeployed into the flagship design feature of SIM drivers – the heavy Inertia Generator that’s positioned low and back in the club.

New for 2020 is an ultra-light weight chromium carbon crown with a chalk white topline that creates contrast with the black clubface to help frame the ball at address and improve alignment.

SPEED INJECTED TWIST FACE

In 2019, TaylorMade took Twist Face® – the revolutionary face curvature that’s designed to straighten ball flight – to the next level of performance with Speed Injected Twist Face. Exposing the false narrative that speed limits have been reached in a metalwood, this breakthrough technology allows the company to push ball speeds near the legal limit for every driver in the SIM family, particularly on off-centre hits. There are three key features that allow this to occur.

  • Ultra-thin Titanium face with redesigned Inverted Cone Technology (ICT)
  • Variable amounts of injected resin based on testing of the face
  • A proprietary algorithm to tune each head
338922 tm20mwd jji23 sim tch 02 v3 3eb857 large 1574758461

Every SIM, SIM Max and SIM Max•D driver head is inspected, measured and tuned to maximize speed and to ensure conformity; a process truly unmatched in the golf industry. Where other drivers have a greater level of variation in ball speed from one to the next, TaylorMade’s engineering and development processes effectively deliver a level of precision that ensures every golfer gets a hot and fast driver head.

SLIDING WEIGHT TECHNOLOGY AND LOFT SLEEVE

Continuing a history of adjustability and personalization, the SIM driver features Sliding Weight Technology that allows for up to +/- 20 yards of draw or fade bias. For even further personalization, the 2° Loft Sleeve™ allows for the adjustment of the loft, lie angle and face angle of the driver. The Loft Sleeve™ is available on all three models, while Sliding Weight Technology is only offered in SIM.

341347 tm19mwd012 2020%20mwd%20charts loft v1 9d2a54 large 1578282151

SIM

SIM allows the player who craves customization and adjustability to optimize ball flight characteristics by creating a +/- 20 yards of draw-fade bias through Sliding Weight Technology and a single 10g weight. It features a slightly smaller face than SIM Max and SIM Max•D, appealing to players who place a premium on adjustability and control.

SIM MAX

The SIM Max driver is designed to deliver maximum forgiveness. The all-new Inertia Generator positions additional weight at the extreme rear of the club to further increase MOI, providing more forgiveness and slightly higher launch conditions than the SIM driver.

SIM MAX•D

The SIM  Max•D  is engineered to help golfers a common slice tendency on the course via a strategically placed heel-bias internal weight  and divergent topline masking, which makes the driver look more open at address helping golfers close the face at impact.  The draw-biased design promotes the highest launch and offers the largest, most forgiving face in the SIM lineup.

PROGRESSIVE FACE HEIGHTS

Using data collected during the development of our Twist Face®, which shows the correlation between handicaps and mis-hit dispersion, TaylorMade implemented Progressive Face Heights in SIM drivers.

The SIM Max has an 8% larger face than SIM, while Max•D has an 18% larger face. Data shows that the golfers most likely to gravitate towards the performance features of SIM Max or SIM Max•D will also benefit from the increased forgiveness of a larger face.

“We know that the player who generally purchases a draw-bias driver commonly has the widest area of dispersion across the face. So we wanted to give that golfer the biggest face possible. Using all the data we collected in the development of Twist Face – and learning how big the mis-hit zone is based on handicaps – we really tried to design them for the golfer who’s likely to purchase each of these drivers.”

SIM, SIM Max and SIM Max•D Fairways

The iconic V Steel design has been reinvented with the new SIM family of fairway metals. Advanced shaping combines with a V Steel™ sole to improve turf interaction and playability from various lies.

A more rounded leading edge improves the club’s initial contact with the turf, while the V Steel sole further raises heel and toe sections of the sole away from the ground and improves versatility. These design features combine to significantly reduce turf contact area in SIM, SIM Max and SIM Max•D fairways, reducing ground friction which can positively influence both clubhead speed and ball speed.

338991 tm20mwf jji21 sim%20ti tch 01 489d9d large 1574766686

Matching the aesthetics of the SIM driver family, the chromium carbon crown and contrasting chalk white colour help frame the ball at address and improve alignment.

SIM FAIRWAY

The SIM fairway is a 180cc titanium head that combines a lightweight carbon construction with a revolutionary new ZATECH titanium face and a heavy 80g steel sole weight. The strategically positioned weight creates an extremely low CG that allows for increased ball speed, higher launch and improved forgiveness on low-face hits.

The ZATECH Titanium face is breakthrough in materials technology that enables TaylorMade engineers to push the limits of speed in a titanium fairway wood. It’s the first time TaylorMade has used this rare and ultra-strong material in the construction of a metalwood. The ZATECH titanium is made in small batches using a unique process that allows engineers to improve the strength of the face while maintaining a high level of ductility. The SIM titanium fairway is engineered for crazy distance with adjustability through the Loft Sleeve.

SIM MAX

The 185cc SIM Max steel fairway woods are constructed using strong and durable C300 face material. Also featuring the reinvented V Steel for exceptional versatility from all lies, the SIM Max is designed for higher launch and peak trajectories, with extremely long distance and improved playability.

SIM MAX•D

The oversized 190cc SIM Max•D has been optimized for forgiveness and golfers seeking a draw-bias design. Like SIM drivers, the fairway woods feature progressive head sizes to provide greater forgiveness to the players who need it the most.

“For many golfers V Steel will trigger memories of an iconic product we released more than a decade ago. As we reviewed the research used to develop the original technology, we discovered a massive benefit to having a fairway metal with significantly less turf drag through impact. By pairing V Steel with our technologically advanced materials, we’ve created fairways that are extremely playable, forgiving and provide explosive distance.”

Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade’s Senior Director of Product Creation

TWIST FACE®

TaylorMade introduced Twist Face to its fairway metal lineup in 2019 and has carried the revolutionary technology into each SIM offering. Like the SIM drivers, the faces have been modified to counteract the gear effect on common mis-hits in the high-toe and low-heel. Although the concept is the same as in the driver, the exact geometry is slightly different to account for the unique mass properties and impact location patterns in fairway woods compared to drivers.

SPEED POCKET™

The Speed Pocket in SIM fairways has been engineered to provide increased ball speed to the entire face while improving forgiveness on low-face impacts. A slot insert has also been designed to sit flush with the sole to improve sole interaction and eliminate turf drag from the Speed Pocket, aligning with the performance goals of V Steel.

SIM MAX RESCUE

As a long-iron replacement, it’s imperative that hybrids be versatile and playable in all conditions. That’s why TaylorMade has incorporated V Steel technology into a hybrid for the first time in the company’s history with SIM Max Rescue. The clubhead is engineered to deliver improved turf interaction and reduced friction when playing from various lies. A reshaped leading edge works in conjunction with V Steel to further improve playability and strike conditions.

Designers rounded the toe and adjusted the face angle to give SIM Max Rescue a more confidence-inspiring shape at address for all levels of golfers. It utilizes the same C300 Steel face used in the SIM MAX fairway woods to help improve ball speed, durability and overall performance. The corrective technologies of Twist Face and Speed Pocket offer improved performance and forgiveness on mis-hits on the toe, heel and low on the face.

#TeeBoxChatter – Club Testing SUB 70 Golf 699 Pro Irons

Club testing comes in many forms. From sessions on a driving range to on-course testing. Where testing truly matters most.

So far, testing of the SUB 70 Golf 699 irons has been conducted in a golf dome setting and on the range. January 2nd afforded me the chance to take the testing to the turf. Hitting off of mats is one thing but as most of us know the turf interaction is much different. In particular when the golf course is really soggy.

I headed to St. David’s Golf Club in St. David’s, Ontario to carry on testing of this golf club. The video below explains how testing was done on this day. Enjoy!

COBRA GOLF’S KING SPEEDZONE FAIRWAYS & HYBRIDS DELIVER A NEW LEVEL OF POWER, SPEED AND DISTANCE

Previously, I’ve posted press releases regarding the bulk of the product launches for the 2020 product rage from COBRA Golf. These releases included the likes of the KING Forged Tec irons, the SPEEDZONE irons and drivers and last but not least COBRA’s first all-hollow hybrid set the T-Rail. With the final release from COBRA Golf below see what the Carlsbad, CA company has in store for golfers looking to up their fairway metal and hybrid game.

I’m looking forward to seeing if the line-up garners attention for the 2020 Teezy Awards.

Thanks go out to Rachel Rees once again for sharing this information. Ms. Rees is the Senior Managers of Communications for COBRA PUMA Golf. See you in January Rachel.

Until The Next Tee!!

Carlsbad, Calif. (November 19, 2019) Cobra Golf®, a leader in golf club innovation, today introduced the 2020 KING SPEEDZONE family of clubs, including Fairways & Hybrids. COBRA Golf engineers optimized specific zones throughout the club’s construction that works to deliver the best combination of power, speed, and distance.

For 2020, COBRA is offering golfers the choice of three new fairway woods designed to suit a wide variety of golfers. The first, the KING SPEEDZONE Fairway ($279), is a more traditional model, designed with back weighting and a slightly shallower face for easy launch, higher trajectories and maximum forgiveness that yields increased distance. The second, the KING SPEEDZONE Tour Fairway ($279), features a compact shape, with forward CG weighting, designed for better players that desire low spin, a more piercing trajectory and workability. The third fairway offering is the SPEEDZONE Big Tour Fairway ($279) which features the largest profile of the three, stronger loft, forward CG weighting, and near-zero CGna, that produces the optimal combination of fast ball speed, high launch and low spin for extreme distance. All three fairway options feature COBRA CONNECT Powered by Arccos which allows golfers to track the accuracy and distance of every shot using the Arccos Caddie app on their smart device.

Throughout the three KING SPEEDZONE fairway offerings, COBRA engineers focused on optimizing four key “zones” in order to deliver more distance, forgiveness, and accuracy than ever before.

ZONE 1 – THE POWER ZONE – the only forged CNC Milled Face in a fairway wood, created using industry-leading face manufacturing technology, allows for a thinner and hotter face design that is up to five times more precise than traditional hand polishing. This allows COBRA’s R&D team to repeatedly, and consistently, expand the zone for maximum ball speed.

ZONE 2 – THE FLEX ZONE – The new split rail structure divides the rail system into a front and rear portion. The front rails, silver in color, have been hollowed out to create thinner walls that flex with impact while still providing Baffler Rail technology to prevent the leading edge of the fairway from digging. The result is more flection for ball speed and higher launch, and a leading-edge that glides through the turf delivering more club head speed through impact.

ZONE 3 – THE STABILITY ZONE – Dual Baffler Rails provide excellent stability and speed through the turf, allowing the club to glide effortlessly out of any lie and deliver more club and ball speed at impact.

ZONE 4 – THE LIGHT ZONE – An ultralight carbon fiber crown saves 10 grams of discretionary weight that is strategically positioned to lower the CG for higher launch with increased forgiveness. Rounding out the high-performance design, MyFly with SmartRail™ technology affords golfers their choice of five (5) loft settings and three (3) draw settings to help manage trajectory and customize launch conditions while Smart Rail™ keeps the face square regardless of the loft setting.

Providing the perfect complement to the SPEEDZONE fairway woods, COBRA is also unveiling its new KING SPEEDZONE Hybrids, available in Variable or ONE Length designs. Again, engineers optimized specific zones of the construction to engineer the highest level of performance in a hybrid.

The performance can be attributed to the following key technologies:

 Hollow Split Rail Technology – allows for more flex than solid rails, creating a larger hot spot for higher launch and increased distance.
 Back Weighting – weight concentrated low and back creates higher launch, more spin, towering trajectories and maximum carry.
 Forged E9 Face- A forged, two-piece construction features a high-strength 455 stainless steel that can be designed thinner for increased ball speed.
 Refined Shape – slightly larger than a traditional hybrid, the shape features a high MOI for increased forgiveness on off-center hits, and a square leading edge to improve alignment and accuracy.
 COBRA Connect – Track your accuracy and distance and overall performance using the Arccos Caddie app on your smart device.

The KING SPEEDZONE men’s Hybrids (MAP $229) are available in 2H (17 O ), 3H (19 O ), 4H (21 O ) & 5h (24 O ) of loft and come standard with a aftermarket UST Recoil 480 ESX shaft in R, S or LITE Flex and a black Lamkin Crossline (58+) COBRA CONNECT grip.

The KING SPEEDZONE Women’s Hybrids, in a stunning Matte Black/Rose Gold colorway, are available in 4H (21 O ), 5H (24 O ), 6H (28 O ) and 7H (31 O ) of loft and come stock with UST Recoil 450 ESX shaft in ladies’ flex and a black/rose gold Lamkin Crossline COBRA CONNECT grip.

The KING SPEEDZONE ONE Length Hybrids (MAP $229) share the same performance boosting technologies as the traditional length hybrids do, in COBRA’s patented ONE Length configuration. Each hybrid features 7-iron length configuration to simplify a players’ game by allowing them to use one repeatable set-up and swing, giving them 7-iron consistency in their hybrid.

These hybrids are available in 2H (19 O ), 4H (21 O ) and 5H (24 O ) of loft and come standard with a UST Recoil 480 ESX shaft in S, R or LITE flexes (in RH/LH) and a blue Lamkin Crossline COBRA CONNECT grip.
