On this episode of TeeBox Chatter I have the absolute pleasure and honour of being welcomed by Mr. Charles Mechem. I have to be careful in referring to Mr. Mechem as “mister” as I was warned by him, but what can I respect? It’s about respect.
Mr. Mechem (now known as Charlie moving forward) is a man that has accolades that when I first read up on him… Made my eyes bulge. His resume is beyond impressive and includes holding titles and/or positions including…
- Upon graduating from Yale Law School, Charlie became a Partner at the law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister (1955 – 1967)
- Chairman of the Board –Taft Broadcasting Company (1967 — 1988) which included the likes of Hanna-Barbera and amusement parks to name just a couple
- Personal Business Advisor to the late Arnold Palmer (1996 – 2016) and to golf legend Jack Nicklaus. Has also acted as personal business advisor to golfers Juli Inkster, Annika Sorenstam and Dottie Pepper.
- Commissioner of the LPGA (1990-1995)
