Chevron to commit $1.2 million over the next six years
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 28, 2022 – The LPGA and IMG announced today that Chevron U.S.A. Inc. is joining the LPGA Foundation Giving Circle at the Founders level, with a commitment to invest $1.2 million over the next six years to support the LPGA Foundation’s programs.
The LPGA Foundation recently launched its Giving Circle campaign to generate funds and support to increase opportunities for girls and women in golf. The Founders Circle is the highest level of giving, with Chevron becoming the first corporate partner to make this substantial financial commitment and the third member of this level after the USGA and LPGA Tour players. Chevron’s investment touches all parts of the LPGA Foundation, including LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, Scholarships and the LPGA Leadership Academy.

Chevron’s commitment to helping change the face of the game will be showcased at The Chevron Championship this week, beginning with a Leadership Forum for young female golfers from diverse organizations. Hosted by Golf Channel and NBC commentator Peter Jacobson, The Chevron Championship Leadership Forum will provide an engaging experience for girls in middle school and high school who have discovered their passion for golf and have the desire to pursue a career in the game. Through discussions with women at the top of their professions, participants will learn more about opportunities in golf while creating industry connections.
Through The Chevron Challenge, every birdie made on the 14th hole at The Chevron Championship will go toward various charities, including the LPGA Foundation. On Saturday, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf members and amateurs will have the chance to team up with LPGA Legends for the Legends & Juniors Pro-Am, hosted by Amy Alcott. The final round of The Chevron Championship will feature an LPGA*USGA Girls Golf activation with clinic stations, a scavenger hunt, and the opportunity to watch the champion jump into Poppie’s Pond for the final time.
Chevron and the LPGA will also create several new initiatives within the LPGA Foundation to provide opportunities for all girls to take advantage of the benefits that golf has to offer. A new Chevron scholarship will be launched this fall that focuses on providing financial support to girls from underrepresented communities looking to enter a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) career path.
