Composite Course and a Teezy Epiphany

So today’s article is going to be relatively short and instead of berating a golf swing or some golf injustice (save that for another day) this is going to be… fun.

So I was sitting in bed on my laptop talking on Twitter. Having a great conversation with some of my “Tweeps” when I had an utter flash of brilliance. As some of you know, deciding the winners of the equipment Edition of the Teezy Awards from the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show was difficult. I had several tie-breakers involved to decide winners and that’s truly a real testament to how outstanding most of the products are in 2019. Honestly, I’m already licking my chops thinking about what’s to come for the “Year of Perfect Vision” (2020).

So the epiphany. Starting as recently as the Non-Equipment Teezy Awards from the 2019 PGA Show I’m going to experiment with a new format. Much like the Olympics, I’m going to dole out a Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal winner based on the points accumulated. The reason for this can really be attributed to Wilson Golf. In the write-up, Wilson Golf didn’t get a mention for the D7 irons. They scored 37/40 points! That was the winning total for the Top Driver. This way, they’d get their mention in the Teezy Awards as well.. those irons deserved it. I think it’ll make for a good change.

Composite Course. In the same time that I was scouring Twitter, I saw a post from Zac Blair. For those that aren’t familiar with him, Zac plays on the web.com Tour. He posed this question.

I found it to be really thought-provoking and while some holes were easy (holes had to match so the 17th at Sawgrass would have to be my 17th hole and so on) some weren’t the case. When the dust settled I had a gem of a Par 71 layout. Apparently, I love links, the ocean, and diversity. I think I have something on all of the continents but South America and Antarctica. My background is Hungarian (mom left there in 1956) so I even picked a hole from Hungary. So here it is… My Composite Course.
