Well… That’s Over

Alright! Just a quick show of hands. Who’s happy that the Christmas/Festive Season hullaballoo is over for another 365 days? Okay, so it’s not just me. So for those of us who raised their hands… let’s all take a moment to just take a deep collective breath together and slowly exhale. Ahhhhh…

So, now that the festive season is over I hope that if anyone received any golf gifts you enjoy them. Whether it’s shoes from TRUE Linkswear, apparel from Chase 54, undies from 2UNDR, equipment from Tour Edge Golf (especially their EXS range), a belt from Nexbelt (no holes are great after all of the turkey, ham, fixings and desserts that we just consumed) or anything else that your heart desired. As far as I go, we (Crystal and I) never exchange gifts so I’ve never received a golf gift. Or at least that was until my daughter surprised me with something this year. My daughter Tiffany got me a neat little game called Tee Toss from a company called Tiki Toss (www.playtikitoss.com). It looks like a really fun novelty game where you can test your skill and develop hand/eye coordination. Not to mention it might make for a great drinking game… as long as you’re of a legal drinking age where you live.

As the festive season slowly disappears in “our” rear-view mirror a New Year is upon us. 2019. Do you have any resolutions? Are they golf-motivated? I don’t really have any this year… mostly because I’m afraid of breaking them. However, if I were to make one it’s to not go into a hospital and have a pretty healthy year. On the golf side of things yes I want to play more golf. However, if there is anything that I have to correct in my game it’s my putting. It wasn’t until I tested the Shot Scope V2 (review here) that I realized how weak my putting really was. While I do lip out a ton of putts the most alarming thing that I discovered was the fact that the majority of my first putts were left short. The app that tracks the stats said something that’s resonated with me. It’s the old golf saying “Never up…Never in”. That said, always remember “speed before line”. Greens in Regulation mean nothing if your first putt doesn’t give you a chance to get birdie.

With 2018 coming to a quick end I’ll be doing some sort of “Best Of 2018” piece. Did products that won a Teezy Award at the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show stand the test of time and remain on top? Or did I discover something better that I received for testing during the year? Only time will tell. Although, I must confess that I do have a bit of a spoiler alert. The Tour Edge Exotics EXS hybrid would easily knock out the Teezy Award-winning TaylorMade M3 rescue. But technically, the EXS hybrid is for the 2019 product cycle. Maybe there’ll be repeats or maybe some will be dethroned. Stay tuned.

It seems like I was just wrapping up my final appointments at the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show. It’s hard to believe that we’re only 28 days away from the 2019 iteration of the show. Which by the way, if you didn’t know has sort of merged with a Tennis and Paddle Show. I’m looking forward to the meetings that I’ve already arranged with the likes of Bridgestone Golf, Jack Grace USA, Callaway Golf Apparel, Bettinardi Golf and so many others. But, it’s the impromptu meetings that I look forward to the most. The meetings that happen as I walk around and discover exciting products that I never would have looked at otherwise. There are always “hidden gems” at the show. Man, last year even though it was semi-planned…my discovery of New Level Golf Equipment went in a direction that I never suspected. So my question is this.

Are there any products or companies that you would like me to check out? If so, please just drop Crystal or myself a line in the comments section.

Well, I think that’s about it for now. Take care, stay safe and we’ll #SeeUonTheNextTee

Until The Next Tee!!
