I realize that according to the calendar we are technically into the second week of August. Unfortunately that means that summer is marching its way into fall. But there is good news as well. There are several weeks of gorgeous weather and up here we have seen 80’s in October. Not bad for the land of maple syrup, Peameal Bacon (which is REAL Canadian Bacon), and of course igloos. Of course I jest.
At any rate, I’ve wanted to start gearing more articles towards any/more of our golfers of the “gentler sex”. Yes ladies.. this article is for you. I realized some time ago that I was missing out on a huge demographic so I’m going to start catering more articles towards you.
In this press release that I received from Mary Beth Lacy of Mary Beth Lacy Inc (a golf public relations firm) long-time sports apparel brand Antigua Sportswear introduced their summer line for 2017. While I was in attendance at the 2017 PGA Merchandise this past January I had the absolute pleasure of talking to Antigua VP of Operations Pamela Miller about the upcoming season as it related to what Antigua was releasing. On the women’s apparel side of things the colours were vivid, bright and very appealing. Blues and yellows really dominated with a little orange along the way. I know that a majority of my female membership of a course that I was the Director of Golf at preferred sleeveless golf shirts and Antigua nailed these types of styles. At any rate please read the press release below.
Antigua Summer 2017 Women’s Golf Collection
|
PEORIA, AZ – The Antigua Group, Inc. – one of the nation’s leading designers and marketers of lifestyle and golf apparel under the distinguished Antigua brand – debuted its 2017 Women’s Golf Collection.
“The 2017 ladies golf collection is a continuation of the simplicity that the ’16 line embodied,” says Danielle Dellios, Antigua women’s designer. “In the new collection, fabrics and colors play a key role versus styling and silhouette. The market was calling for a fresh take on primary color, which was made possible by mixing colors together. Thus, each grouping consists of two primaries. For example, our new green color, Cypress, is mixed with a bright blue color, Cabana. There are a total of four-color combos, each mixing two primary colors. Every printed, striped or colorblocked style within the collection mixes the two colors, instead of using traditional neutral accents like grey or khaki. Combining two complementary primary shades really pops. Prints are as strong as ever in the marketplace, which meant creating unique artwork that could also be used to mix colors and give new life to basic styles.”

The Backspin legging features a heavy peached jersey that provides maximum coverage and soft handfeel. It comes in solid black and black heather. Its counterpart is the Enclave skirt, a basic, lightweight stretch woven with a high-low hemline and zipper hip pockets at the front. It comes in black only.
